Surgi-Stop is made of a biocompatible regenerated cellulose used to gain hemostasis in the oral cavity. When introduced to an area of bleeding, Surgi-Stop absorbs blood and forms a scaffold which easily attaches to moist mucosa. After Surgi-Stop attaches, capillary end are covered resulting in hemostasis in under 120 seconds in most cases. When evaluated, it was demonstrated that Surgi-Stop reduced dry socket rates by up to 97%.
