Luxation Periotome Kit
Luxation periotomes are used to separate the periodontal ligament from the surface of a root. Luxation periotomes are designed to preserve bone structure and cause less trauma to patients. Luxation periotomes work by severing the periodontal ligament while compressing the surrounding bone. The results is less pain, more bone, and less tissue damage. Use these luxation periotomes like traditional periotomes, not like elevators.

Kit Includes

  • NX-LUX2S - 2mm Luxation Periotome, Straight, Titanium
  • NX-LUX2C - 2mm Luxation Periotome, Curved, Titanium
  • NX-LUX3S - 3mm Luxation Periotome, Straight, Titanium
  • NX-LUX3C - 3mm Luxation Periotome, Curved, Titanium
  • NX-LUX5S - 5mm Luxation Periotome, Straight, Titanium
  • NX-LUX5C - 5mm Luxation Periotome, Curved, Titanium
  • NX-CS8E - 8 Piece Elevator Cassette

Operation Guide
Grab the Luxation Periotome with the palm of your hand and use your index finger extended towards the tip to stabilize the instrument. Insert the tip of the instrument into the gingival margin with the blade angled along the long axis of the root surface. Once in the periodontal ligament, the luxation periotome is worked down the surface of the root. It is important to apply apical pressure with a rotational motion. This action severs the periodontal fibers and expands the socket. Make sure to work the tip of the luxation periotome around the circumference of the root. Forceps can then be used to easily remove the tooth. Make sure not to elevate or apply high pressure when rotating as the tips are very thin and will fracture if too much force is applied.

Gold Titanium- A ceramic plasma coating of Titanium Nitride is used to coat the tips of stainless steel instruments to: Prevent corrosion, Preserve sharpness, & Prevent Wear.
