Curved Flexible Periotome
Flexible periotomes are used as a knife to sever the periodontal ligament, protecting the surrounding bone and soft tissue. As the periotome is inserted into the periodontal ligament, the tip of the periotome flexes and adapts to the shape of the root surface. This allows the periotome to cleanly separate the fibrous tissue of the PDL, ensuring an atraumatic extraction. Flexible periotomes can be used by hand or in conjunction with a mallet to achieve optimal results. The periotome encorporates a heavy handle to assist in malleting.The curved tip of the flexible periotome is perfect for posterior access.
