Summary
12x24mm Cytoflex® Textured Tef-Guard® ePTFE Membrane (1/5Packs)
Cytoflex® textured membrane is a reliable non-resorbable membrane with excellent adhesion and strength properties.
Easy and efficient handling make Cytoflex® membranes ideal for guided tissue regeneration. With a protective barrier against bacteria and protection for the grafting site, procedures become predictable and manageable for the best patient outcomes.
Textured Cytoflex® is used as an alternative to Cytoflex® smooth membranes and products from other brands including Cytoplast™ membranes.
Dental Implant Technologies is a supplier of Cytoflex® textured membranes for U.S. based clinicians.
Cytoflex® 12x24mm Textured Membrane Key Details
Cytoflex® textured membranes can be used in place of Cytoflex® smooth membranes when better adhesive properties are required. Besides adhesion, all Cytoflex® Tef-Guard® membranes share similar properties.
- Material: ePTFE
- Texture: Textured surface.
- Dimensions: 12x24mm
- Thickness: 0.25mm
- Non-Resorbable.
- Can’t be left exposed.
Cytoflex® smooth membranes and textured membranes are made with a proprietary ePTFE thin film that is biocompatible and non-degradable during the four to five week initial healing period for regeneration procedures.
Indications for Cytoflex® Textured Membranes over Cytoflex® Smooth Membranes
Due to the similarities between Cytoflex® smooth membranes and textured membranes, the products can be considered interchangeable in all aspects except adhesion.
Cytoflex® textured membranes are indicated for cases where there is difficulty adhering a smooth membrane to soft tissue. Both smooth and textured membranes are pliable and can be easily conformed to the site for tissue regeneration.
Cytoflex® membranes are suitable for the reconstruction of the alveolar ridge and periodontal defects.
Cytoflex® as an Alternative to Cytoplast™ Membranes
Cytoplast™ membranes were previously considered the gold standard for guided tissue regeneration barriers. Cytoflex® smooth membranes and textured membranes improve on the performance of Cytoplast™ membranes.
Cytoflex® membranes create a versatile barrier for regeneration sites where:
- Bacterial entry is restricted.
- Grafting materials are contained, and neo-vascularization occurs for the repopulation of osteoblasts.
- Nutrient passage is allowed through the microporous structure, allowing for more predictable and often more reliable healing and regeneration.
- Flap dehiscence is rare.
Textured and smooth Cytoflex® membranes can be used for all cases where Cytoplast™ membranes would be used.
Removing a Synthetic Membrane
Synthetic membranes are ideal when high and consistent tensile strength is needed for primary or non-primary coverage. Cytoflex® membranes don’t degrade during application over four to five weeks.
The removal process is simple with minimal impact on patient comfort. For primary closure, a Cytoflex® membrane can be removed with a small incision. With forceps, the membrane can be gripped and removed as one piece. For non-primary closure, the membrane can simply be lifted with a probe and retrieved with forceps.
Any clinician familiar with other brands, including Cytoplast™ membranes, will find that the transition to Cytoflex® is seamless.
Transition from Cytoplast™ Membranes to Cytoflex® Today
Consider the details when transitioning from Cytoplast™ membranes to Cytoflex®.
- There are no procedural differences when using Cytoflex® over Cytoplast™ membranes.
- The removal process is simple and both protection and nutrient transfer are improved.
- Cytoflex® is 100% biocompatible and inert. No cases of allergic reaction have been recorded since Cytoflex® was approved in 2002.
- Cytoflex® maintains consistent tensile strength for predictable outcomes, every time.
